Ingredients

Strawberry Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz whipped cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries diced
  • 2 tbsp honey or to taste

French Toast

  • 8 slices brioche bread day-old preferred
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup whole milk or heavy cream for richer flavor
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter for cooking

Instructions

Prepare the Filling

  • In a medium bowl, mix softened whipped cream cheese with honey until smooth.
  • Gently fold in diced strawberries to create an even filling. Adjust sweetness with more honey if needed.

Assemble the French Toast

  • Spread a generous layer of the strawberry cream cheese filling on one slice of brioche bread, then top with another slice to make a sandwich. Repeat for remaining slices.

Prepare the Egg Mixture

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.

Cook the French Toast

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp of butter.
  • Dip each stuffed bread sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides for about 5 seconds each. Let excess drip off.
  • Place the dipped sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed for additional batches.

Serve

  • Serve warm with toppings like powdered sugar, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, or maple syrup.

Notes

  • Use whipped cream cheese for easier mixing.
  • Fresh, ripe strawberries enhance flavor.
  • Day-old brioche prevents sogginess.
