Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined to form a smooth batter.
  • Pour the batter into a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt for the topping.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  • Carefully pour hot water over the entire batter.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • 1- Use cold ingredients for a flakier texture if desired.
  • 2- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
