Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter browned and cooled slightly
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling occasionally, until it turns nutty brown and smells fragrant. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the flour and oats until just combined, then fold in the semi-sweet and white chocolate chips.
  • Form the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for 40 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Scoop the dough into evenly sized balls, place them on the prepared sheets, and press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each dough ball.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft. Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • 1- Use cold ingredients for flakier biscuits.
  • 2- Taste the apple filling and adjust spices as needed.
  • 3- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
