Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined, medium to large
  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti, cooked al dente
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 0.25 cup white wine optional
  • 1 lemon juice and zest
  • 0.25 cup parsley fresh, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • Pour white wine (if using) into the skillet and simmer for 1 minute, scraping up browned bits.
  • Reduce heat to low, stir in lemon juice and zest. Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water gradually until sauce reaches desired consistency.
  • Return shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor, but frozen works if thawed properly.
  • Cook pasta al dente to maintain texture.
  • Adjust garlic and red pepper flakes to taste.
