Ingredients
  

Butter and Sugars

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Egg and Vanilla Extract

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Flour and Baking Essentials

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt kosher, or 1/4 tsp table salt

Add-Ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Easter M&Ms

Instructions
 

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  • Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

Combining Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.

Folding In Add-Ins

  • Fold in chocolate chips and Easter M&Ms with a rubber spatula.

Baking

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are golden brown.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for freshness. Optionally add nuts or dried fruits for variation.
