Tender, flavorful steak bites slow-cooked with savory seasonings and rich au jus sauce, perfect for an easy family meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 packet au jus mix store-bought
  • 1 large onion sliced and caramelized
  • 2 tbsp butter for caramelizing onions

Instructions
 

  • Cube the steak into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, toss the steak with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  • Slice the onion thinly and caramelize in a skillet with butter over low heat for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Place the seasoned steak, caramelized onions, and au jus mix into the crockpot.
  • Set the crockpot to low and cook for 6-8 hours, or until the steak is tender.
  • Stir the steak bites before serving to coat them in the sauce.

Notes

  • 1- Use pre-cut steak bites to save time.
  • 2- Add a splash of red wine or beef broth to the au jus for extra flavor.
  • 3- Serve warm with garlic mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or a side salad.
