Creamy Garlic Parmesan Tortellini With Chicken & Broccoli

Ingredients
  

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini fresh or dried
  • 1 lb chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Cooking The Tortellini

  • Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.

Searing The Chicken

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Sear the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C). Remove from skillet and set aside.

Creating The Creamy Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Add cooked tortellini, chicken, and broccoli to the sauce. Toss everything together and simmer for a few minutes.
