Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage shredded
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • butter or oil for cooking
  • cheddar cheese shredded, for sauce
  • mozzarella cheese shredded, for sauce
  • cream for sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter or oil over medium heat. Add shredded cabbage and cook until tender, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer the cooked cabbage mixture, followed by the browned ground beef.
  • Prepare a creamy cheese sauce with cheddar, mozzarella, and cream, then pour it evenly over the beef and cabbage.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown on top. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • 1- Use cold ingredients for the cheese sauce to ensure a smooth texture.
  • 2- Taste the beef and cabbage mixture and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • 3- Serve warm with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
