  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened

Peanut Butter and Add-Ins

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter creamy or chunky
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1.5 cups oats quick or rolled
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Instructions
 

Preparing the Mixture

  • In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder over medium heat. Whisk constantly until butter melts.
  • Once boiling, stop whisking and let it boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until well combined. Add oats and salt, stirring until evenly distributed.

Shaping the Cookies

  • Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • Drop mounds of dough onto the sheets using a tablespoon or cookie scoop. Flatten slightly if desired.

Setting and Storing

  • Refrigerate the baking sheets for 30-60 minutes until cookies are firm. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
