Ingredients

Creamy Filling Essentials

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened, full-fat
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Sweet Cherry Pie Topping

  • 1 cup cherry pie filling store-bought or homemade

Perfect Slider Rolls

  • 12 King's Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp water for egg wash

Instructions

Prepping the Oven and Rolls

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Using a bread knife, carefully slice the entire slab of rolls horizontally, so you have a top and bottom half. Set both halves aside.

Creating the Cream Cheese Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Assembling the Sliders

  • Spread the cream cheese filling evenly across the bottom half of the rolls.
  • Spoon the cherry pie filling generously over the cream cheese layer.
  • Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  • Whisk an egg with a tablespoon of water and lightly brush the tops of the sliders with this egg wash.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until golden-brown and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • 1- Use room temperature cream cheese for the smoothest filling.
  • 2- Apply an egg wash for a golden-brown sheen.
  • 3- Serve with fresh fruit, coffee, or ice cream for extra enjoyment.
