Apple Pie Biscuits are a delightful twist on two classic favorites—apple pie and biscuits. This recipe combines the warm, comforting flavors of apple pie with the flaky goodness of biscuits, making it a perfect dessert or even a sweet breakfast treat.

Ingredients
  

Biscuit Base

  • 1 can pre-made biscuit dough Pillsbury Butter Tastin’ Biscuits recommended
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Apple Filling

  • 3 cups apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Cinnamon-Sugar Coating

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

Preparing The Biscuit Base

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a round baking dish with melted butter.
  • Pop open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits.

Creating The Apple Filling

  • Peel, core, and chop apples into small, bite-sized pieces.
  • In a saucepan, combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter. Cook over medium heat until apples are tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Assembling The Dish

  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
  • Dip each biscuit in melted butter, then coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Arrange coated biscuits in the prepared baking dish.
  • Spoon apple pie filling evenly over the biscuits.
  • Pour any remaining melted butter over the top and sprinkle with leftover cinnamon-sugar.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown and filling is bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • 1- Use cold ingredients for flakier biscuits.
  • 2- Taste the apple filling and adjust spices as needed.
  • 3- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
